Old Lutheran Quote of the Day

If we wish to save anyone, we cannot do it by giving him a tract. We can do it by suffering for him and with him, in other words, the saviours up and down the world are always the pain-bearers. They are marked with the sign of the Cross. That is the reason why Calvary saved. Jesus took upon Himself the pain and suffering of the world. He says, "I am the way. My way is the way to salvation." And this is the abundant way. He that loses his life will find it. - von Schenk, *The Presence* p. 82
