Another Mollie Interview...

...this one is about 2/3 of the way through - the poor interviewer, however, seems not to believe the Scriptural teaching about infant Baptism. Pity! "The promise is for you and for your children..."

The interviewer's name is Todd Friel. I used to listen to him about 5 years ago when he was on the radio locally in Minneapolis. At the time, I was a Roman Catholic searching for "The Truth". Ironically, I stopped listening to him when I discovered Issues, Etc. (and subsequently learned "The Truth"). Even though Todd Friel is very conservative, his assurance is based on his "conversion experience" just like (I believe) most evangelicals. What a blessing it was when I learned on Issues, Etc. that Baptism is God's work, not man's, and that my assurance is based on the promises tied to my Baptism (Acts 2:38-39), not in my "experiences".

Yeah, it's too bad about the infant baptism. But that interview was great. Good sense of humor, too.

Ah WOTMR....I've dealt with them many a times :-). The good thing is Tony Verkinness (I think the producer who gives the news before hour 2) is going to be Lutheran and is on the Wittenberg Trail.

I used to listen to the radio host- Todd Friel annd he has a very good show. He uses lots of Law and Gospel. I do not believe he is evangelical but maybe Lutheran. His comment on infant baptism wasn't serious, he was just joking.

VDMA,
I also enjoyed listening to Todd Friel, though it has been a few years. However, he is NOT a Lutheran. His comments on infant baptism were not a joke. He absolutely rejects infant baptism.

The thing which impressed me the most was the way Molly explained both the "Issues Etc." cancellation and the state of the LC-MS. She truly spoke to the disregard synodical leadership has toward Confessional Lutheranism.

Even so, the interview is a classic case of Cssclassic example of Christ-centered, cross-focused teaching in conversation with conservative evangelicalism.

The hosts of the show do seem sincerely opposed to shallow finess. Even so, their anti-infant Baptism remarks betrayed a decisionist element which made me a bit squeemish. Did the hosts ever clearly define the Gospel? Correct me, please, if I am being to critical.

In the face of the hosts' remarks, Molly truly explained so clearly what is at stake--in the words of "Issues Etc."--"defending the faith...teaching the truth" of Christ Jesus our One and Only Savior."
