New Artwork at the International Center Chapel

This lovely altar piece replica of the Wittenberg Altar by Lucas Cranach the Elder and the Younger, was blessed today. It is the craftsmanship of Pr. William Mazat. As usual with Lutheran art from the early years, it focuses on the Means of Grace: Baptism, Eucharist, and Keys, across the top, the preaching of Christ in the bottom. The lovely crucifix will be repositioned to a different spot in the Chapel.

I always wanted to know where I could purchase such a replica. I have been in danger of coveting President Harrison's. Do you know where he was able to obtain it?

No. I know who constructed the framing, but not who did the pictures. I think it was a German photographer. The frame was made by Pr. Bill Matzat.
